Rubber side down
I created this collection inspired by iconic Grand prix motorcycle racers of the 1990’s and vintage motorcross racing, taking a few small details from Airforce paratroopers. My focus was to produce a collection with genuine protective qualities, so I created the collection using recycled motorcross armour, and abrasion-resistant aramid fabrics supplied to me by CQC.
space racer
for this collection I took inspiration from motorsport racesuits, astronauts, and the heroes of Sci-Fi comic books to create a collection fit for a space age motorcyclist. I took a lot of inspiration for the shape of my garments from the way that Formula 1 drivers and MotoGP riders wear their racesuits between races and while their relaxing. this collection acted as a pre-collection for the project above
guardrails
for this project i wanted to make a pair of trousers thaty were intentionally clunky and hard to walk in, inspired by the large, hard to manoeuvre construction projects of the 19th and 20th century. I made a pair of trousers with a wooden frame and hinges at the back to enable uneasy walking.
